Classes resume today at Enterprise school

Classes are expected to resume at the Enterprise Government School today, following its temporary closure since last Friday. The closure was due to a burst sewer main, which the Education Ministry said had been repaired. Once all repair work is finished, classes are set to resume at the normal time. In the meantime, classes resumed yesterday at the Jerningham Government Primary School.

On Monday morning around 8.32, 15 students and their teachers began experiencing nausea, burning eyes and throat, headaches and abdominal pains. They were later treated and discharged at the Chaguanas Casualty Department. Following this, the school was immediately closed. Authorities at the school said they observed an apparent cloud of pesticide in the area, which may have been responsible for the problem.
