Kidnap victim rescued from Barataria house
A kidnap victim was rescued from a Barataria house early yesterday. Reports revealed that around 4.30 am, officers of the Morvant Police Station stormed a house at 6th Avenue, Barataria, where they saw the victim Terrance Christian, 27, tied to a bed. He was suffering from burns about the body. Police officers arrested a 27-year-old man and a 14-year-old girl who were guarding the victim. A bullet proof vest was also seized from the house. The two suspects will be placed on identification parade today for other offences.
Christian was kidnapped on Monday night while walking along Rivers Branch Road in Kelly Village, Caroni. Reports revealed that around 10.30 pm on Monday, Terrance, his brother Stephen and a friend, Joel Simon, were walking along the road when a car with a heavy tint pulled up. Terrance was bundled into the vehicle. His brother Stephen and Simon were robbed of a quantity of cash and jewelry. A report was made to the Caroni police. Officers from the Morvant Police Station, acting on a tip, went to the Barataria house where they rescued the victim.
