Six TTUTA posts up for grabs

On May 28, the following persons were nominated to contest the elections of the six  National officers of the Trinidad and Tobago Unified Teachers’ Association (TTUTA), which is scheduled to take place on October 21. Current president, Trevor Oliver, is not standing for re-election, having served his two terms. Clyde Permell, one of the three contenders for the position of president, has served as a former TTUTA president for two years, and was also a former president of the Caribbean Union of Teachers. Permell was selected as TTUTA president after the untimely passing of the then elected officer, Urich Loutoo. Permell, the incumbent, was elected to serve the two-year term until elections were held.
