Bullet-ridden body found in Beetham

THE bullet-ridden body found in Beetham Gardens yesterday morning has been tentatively identified as that of Dillon Lampkin. While the police have identified the corpse as that of  Lampkin, they are waiting on relatives to go to the Forensic Sciences Centre this morning for final confirmation. Lampkin, 35, was seen speaking to some men in the area late on Tuesday night.


Around 12.45 am yesterday, residents of 25th Street, Hellyard, Beetham Estate reported they heard a volley of shots and when they ran out they saw the man lying on the ground dead, in a pool of blood. He was identified from documents found in his possession. At press time police were still checking his background. No motive was given for his killing. The latest murder brings the murder figure to 109 for the year. Cpl Mercer of the Besson Street Police Station is investigating.
