Councillor contends crisis in society starts in the bedrooms
Councillor Paras Ramoutar contends that the crisis in society has its genesis in the bedrooms of the nation. “It is in the bedrooms of our nation that disrespect, callousness and immorality are activated upon,” he said. Councillor Ramoutar has called on the young people to be assertive in whatever sphere of activity with the view of changing the sordid mood of our society. Addressing the graduation ceremony of the Palmiste Government Primary School on Thursday evening, he urged them “to be strong and do not be influenced by what is not your focus.”
“You have the capacity to demonstrate to the people of Palmiste, the people of Trinidad and Tobago, and ultimately to the world that you know what you want and that you are on the pathway to success,” he told the graduates. The Local Government representative for Edinburgh/Chickland called upon the audience which included Principal Ramoudhar Sewdass, teachers, parents and specially-invited guests that “the world society owes no one a living, but we have to chart our own course of actions aimed at bringing into fruition our life-long goals and aspirations.”
