Schoolboy held in scissors stabbing
A 16-year-old schoolboy, who went in to hiding after stabbing a schoolmate in the head with a scissors was arrested yesterday. Acting on information, a party of officers led by Insp Cooper went to a house at Lambie Street in Vistabella yesterday morning and arrested the teenager who was subsequently charged with assault, wounding with intent and larceny of an earring. He was scheduled to appear before a justice of the peace yesterday and will appear before a magistrate on Monday.
The accused, a pupil of Marabella Senior Comprehensive School, allegedly stabbed schoolmate Justin John, 17, on the school compound after an argument over an earring. The argument started after John reportedly asked the pupil to return the earring to him. A security guard attempted to intervene in the fight but was shoved to the ground by the teenaged suspect, who then pulled the scissors from his pocket and stabbed John. John was treated and discharged from San Fernando General Hos-pital. PCs Elbourne and Williams of Marabella Police Station are continuing investigations.
