$10M expansion at Courts

Courts Trinidad Limited has started a $10 million expansion of its Megastore in El Socorro. According to the furniture store, by August its shopping space will be increased from 28,000 ft to approximately one and a half acres. The project was piloted by Courts Trinidad’s first native managing director, Thomas Pantin, the company stated. Pantin said that the megastore project will also provide another 20,000 square feet for a head office from which the company will monitor regional issues such as service, credit, furniture ranges and information technology for 93 countries, Courts said.

They added that the store will be a non-stop-shop where hi-tech giants Sony and Panasonic will have large, fully integrated displays. Courts stated that there will also be an expanded range of furniture, a leather gallery, kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom furniture and fitings, floor tiles and toys. “By keeping ahead in concept, growth, and service, Courts Trinidad is well positioned to move up from fifth position in Courts worldwide and to surge ahead of friendly rival Courts Jamaica, to the number one spot in the Caribbean,” Pantin stated.
