Man charged with Diego teen’s murder
A 30-year-old Diego Martin man yesterday appeared before a Justice of the Peace in Port-of- Spain charged with murdering 16-year-old Duncan Prince at his home last week. He is Lyndon James, alias Iron, of Upper La Puerta in Diego Martin. Acting on information, officers of the Four Roads Police Station held James on Saturday at about 2 pm. Charges were laid by PC Malcolm Linton, on instructions from the DPP. James is accused of murdering 17-year-old Duncan Prince, who was chopped at his Trumpet Lane home in Diego Martin last week Thursday. Reports state that about 8.15 am, Prince was asleep at his home when he was attacked by a man armed with a cutlass. The man reportedly chopped Prince on his face, neck, left shoulder and left arm.
Prince managed to crawl out of bed and alerted neighbours who called for help. Prince was rushed to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital, but was pronounced dead on arrival. James will appear before a Port-of-Spain magistrate today. Prince, meantime, will also be buried today after a funeral service at the Pentecostal Church in La Puerta.
