Fuad Khan: Open up Tobago sky
BARATARIA/SAN JUAN MP, Dr Fuad Khan, wants Government to “open up the sky” in order to ease air transportation problems between Trinidad and Tobago. In a statement yesterday, the UNC MP blamed Works and Transport Minister Franklyn Khan for the current problems on the Tobago air bridge.
He claimed those problems could be solved by opening up the Tobago air bridge to private airlines and said Government must ensure that this process is fully transparent. The UNC MP said the Tobago House of Assembly must be allowed to pursue all initiatives in this area. Khan recently announced that BWIA has wet leased two aircraft to ease pressures on the Tobago air bridge and the Central Tenders Board would shortly award a contract for a new ferry to provide seaborne transport between Trinidad and Tobago.
