Pat Bishop shocked at death of singer

MUSICOLOGIST Pat Bishop, director of the Lydian Singers, has expressed shock over the passing of choir member Orlando Mc Intosh. He died in a vehicular accident yesterday on the Solomon Hochoy Highway. He was reportedly en route to attend a function in San Fernando. Mc Intosh was a soloist in the choir and has been a principal cast member in all the operas staged by the music outfit.

Bishop said: “I haven’t been able to take in news of his death. He was away from the choir for a while due to his studies, but he returned this year to be part of our 25th anniversary celebrations. I last saw him on Friday. The choir is scheduled to meet tomorrow and he was to be there.” She described Mc Intosh as dedicated in his duties in the choir. Bishop related that he had a lovely bass baritone voice and said whenever he had to perform a solo work he was diligent in his preparation. Mc Intosh was also an African drummer in the performing group called the Mwasi Experience.
