Man freed of murder, held for two more

GARVIN “BEAM” SOOKRAM, who was recently freed of a murder was charged yesterday with the murders of  Kerwin Cyrus and Nigel Hinds. The two were shot dead last Wednesday night during a shootout at Sawmille Avenue, Barataria.

Following extensive investigations by Inspector Coa, Ag Inspector Johnny Abraham, Cpl Jacob and WPC Suzette Martin, Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Geoffrey Henderson was consulted and gave instructions for the 29-year-old man to be charged with murder. Sookram will appear before a Port-of-Spain magistrate today.
