Cop stabbed in Spring Village
A policeman is warded at the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex in stable condition after being stabbed by his girlfriend’s relative. According to reports, Constable Levi John, 25, attached to the Port-of-Spain Special Unit, was in a bar at Bassie Street, Spring Village, Valsayn around 8.30 pm Tuesday night, when he got into an argument with his girlfriend’s relative. John was off-duty at the time. An altercation took place and John was stabbed once in the chest. His girlfriend’s relative was also injured. Both men were rushed to the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex where the relative was treated and discharged, but John was detained. The relative is currently assisting police with their investigations. Constable Kingston of St Joseph is continuing enquiries.
