Parliament prorogued
There will be a ceremonial opening of Parliament. Parliament will be prorogued today, and the third session of the eighth Parliament will commence next Friday at 10 am. This was announced by Prime Minister Patrick Manning yesterday at Whitehall. President Max Richards will address the joint sitting of both Houses of Parliament. Government is expected to present the budget in early October. Manning also announced he will no longer be visiting the Far East. Instead he will go to the US between September 22 and September 28, primarily to address the United Nations.
