Beware Mt Hope hospital car park
Nicole Wilson is warning members of the public to be aware of a chain of thefts occurring in the customer car park at the Mt Hope Medical Sciences Complex. Wilson reported that she left her silver Nissan B14 car at the customer car park last Tuesday morning, while admitting a relative to the hospital. When she came out at 1.45 pm, the fog-lights on her car had been stolen.
While waiting to make a complaint, three customers told her that their lights were also stolen, and she found out that it was a normal trend at the carpark. She made a complaint to the hospital’s MTS Security, who informed her that the sign at the front of the car park clearly stated that they were not to be held liable for any damages or thefts of vehicles on the compound. Wilson is seeking compensation to replace the fog-lights, which cost her $1,295, but no one is accepting responsibility for the theft. When The People’s Hotline contacted MTS Security yesterday, no one was available to comment on the matter. The Consumer Affairs Division also had no comment yesterday, but has advised Wilson to write a letter to them and they would investigate the matter.
