Businessman found dead at home

Businessman Emmanuel Sammy, 57, was discovered dead at his Vallot Street, Maraval home yesterday. Reports revealed that around 8.20 am yesterday, David Bhagwandeen, Sammy’s nephew, went to his uncle’s home and found his uncle’s body on the floor of his bedroom. Officers of the St Clair Police Station were alerted and a party of officers led by Ag Sgt Ajith Persad and including Ag Cpl Navin Morali went to the scene along with District Medical Officer Dr Clerk. The body was viewed and removed to the Port-of-Spain Mortuary. Sammy, owner of Consolidated Printers Limited, was last seen alive around 7 pm on Wednesday. Relatives of the dead man expressed shock and sadness over the death. Ag Sgt Persad is investigating.
