Bandits rob Tobago inn twice in three months
THE HAMPDEN Inn at Lowlands, Tobago, was robbed for the second time in three months yesterday morning. According to reports, at around 2 am, three armed men, one with a cutlass and another with a knife, entered the premises and overpowered the security guard who was tied up and robbed of a wallet containing $15. They then broke into a bar on the premises and proceeded to ransack it. An alarm went off and the three men fled the scene. The security guard managed to free himself and made a report to the Old Grange Police Station. Several visitors at the guest house were robbed in August and one of them, a Venezuelan national, was chopped. Three Tobago men were placed on bail totalling close to $700,000 as a result of charges arising out of that incident.
