Police detain student after stabbing

A 14-year-old Carenage student is now being held by West End Police following the stabbing of another 14-year-old with a scissors. According to a report, around 11.30 am yesterday both teens, students of the Diego Martin Junior Secondary School had an altercation during the lunch period when one of them whipped out a pair of scissors and stabbed the other several times about the body. Two teachers intervened, took the scissors from the attacker, while the injured teen was rushed to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital where he is listed in critical condition. The armed teen was handed over to the police. Investigations revealed the two teens had a recent altercation in their hometown of Carenage and took it to the school yesterday. Police sources confirmed they have to investigate the matter before any charges are laid.
