No bail for man with four names

ACCUSED cocaine trafficker Derek Perpignac was again refused bail when an application was made in the Port-of-Spain High Court yesterday. Justice Herbert Volney dismissed an application for bail submitted on Perpignac’s behalf by attorney Ian Stuart Brook. Special prosecutor Dana Seetahal resisted the application. Perpignac, 41, of 104 West Bayside Towers, Cocorite, is charged with being in possession of 4.2 kilos of cocaine at the Western Main Road, Cocorite, on October 20. He is jointly charged with Lawrence Blake, 35, a tailor, of Old St Joseph Road, Laventille. Seetahal objected to bail on the ground that the accused Perpignac was a flight risk. She  informed the court that Perpignac had four names — Derek Perpignac, Anthony Perpignac, Anthony Christopher Hills, and Anthony Mauge — on several passports, identification cards and a driver’s permit.
