Now online: Who is my MP?

THE Parliament of the Republic of Trinidad and Tobago has recently upgraded its website to provide a brief description of each of the 36 Members of Parlia-ment in the House of Representatives. A flash-page shows a map of Trinidad and Tobago, allowing the viewer to click on to any constituency and pull up details of its MP, including a photograph. For example, clicking onto the constituency of Siparia gives the following details: Name — Kamla Persad-Bissesar; Constituency — Siparia; Political Affiliation — United National Congress; Marital status — Married; Constituency Office — Penal Junction, Penal; Telephone contact — 647-4128.

The web page can be viewed at www.ttparliament.org.html/ wmmp.htm. Details of upcoming sittings of the two Houses of Parliament can be viewed on the website at “The Parliament Corner,” available at www.ttparliament.org/parliament_corner.htm.
The website lists the order papers of the Houses, Hansard Reports of their proceedings, their standing orders, Bills under debate and Acts passed, and details of the work of the committees of Parliament.
