Onika died from massive head injuries

An autopsy done by Dr Neville Jankie at the Port-of-Spain General Hospital yesterday revealed that Onika Bostic’s death was due to massive head injuries, a fractured skull and a fractured neck. The autopsy was witnessed by PC Bethelmy of the Besson Street Police Station. Bostic would have celebrated her 25th birthday on Thursday.

Relatives said yesterday that her funeral will be a private one and they wanted her service to be a quiet, peaceful one without much fanfare. A prayer service for Onika on Sunday turned into a soca fete, causing distress to her mother, Jacinta, and others. Bostic died around 9.30 pm on Sunday, almost nine days after she suffered massive head injuries in a car accident in Laventille.
