Third suspect held in murder of Diego schoolboy

A third suspect in the kidnapping and murder of Petit Valley teenager Stellon Davis was detained, and was up until late yesterday assisting homicide officers in their investigations. According to reports, around 6 am yesterday, homicide officers and officers of the West End Police Station went to a river at Covigne Road, where they detained a 22-year-old man.

He was taken to the Homicide Bureau in Port-of-Spain where he was detained up until late yesterday, Homicide officers told Newsday that they will be approaching the Director of Public Prosecutions Geoffrey Henderson for his directions in the investigation. Two others have already been charged with the murder of Davis. On December 14, Davis, a student of the Diego Martin Secondary School, was lured from his Petit Valley home. He was taken to Covigne Road where he was smothered and strangled. His body was found two days later in a shallow grave at Covigne Road. Two students were later detained for the murder and charged following instructions from Director of Public Prosecutions, Geoffrey Henderson.
