First murder for the year at Laventille

The first murder for the year took place at Rock City, Laventille, in which an unidentified man was shot dead. Reports revealed that around 1.30 pm yesterday, residents of Rock City, were alerted to several loud explosions. On checking, they saw the body of a man lying on the roadway. Officers of the Besson Street Police Station along with a District Medical Officer went to the scene and the body was ordered removed to the Forensic Science Centre. Investigations are continuing.
