THE Director of Public Prosecutions has orded an inquest into the death of Toco resident Leslie “Falco” Stanisclaus. Stanisclaus, who was stabbed sometime on Monday night and found dead the following morning, is believed to have met his demise during an alleged drug deal which went sour. Stanisclaus’ body was found in a drain. A 27-year-old man was arrested following the killing. Cpl Leandre is investigating the incident. In an unrelated matter, prisoner Sheldon James yesterday appeared before Arima Court Magistrate Debra Quintyne charged with the murder of fellow inmate Angel Thomas at the Golden Grove Prison, Arouca. The alleged incident occurred on December 4, 2004. The matter was adjourned to January 21.
James is alleged to have stabbed Thomas over an outstanding $300 debt. Sgt Daniel laid the charge. And also at the Arima Magistrates’ Court on Thursday, security officer Curtis Melville, 27, appeared before Magistrate Debra Quintyne charged with the murder of Lopinot teenager Damian “Wacko” Sutherland. The warrant was read to Melville after he appeared before the magistrate charged with attempted murder. Sutherland was shot in his head on Old Year’s Night after a confrontation with officers from the Arouca-based security firm and died a few days later. Cpl Baptiste laid that charge.
