Dad of two gunned down in Laventille

A 20-YEAR-OLD URP foreman was shot dead while liming with friends at Picton Road, Laventille, 6 pm last evening. Reports revealed that Michael Roberts, a father of two, was with his friends when a lone gunman walked up to him and shot him in the back before running off.

Roberts slumped to the ground, dying almost immediately. Sgt Singh and Sgt Edwards along with DMO Dr Boochay visited the scene and the body was removed to the Forensic Science Centre for an autopsy which is carded for today. This is the 20th murder for the year and 11th in the Laventille district. Up to late last night no arrests had been made and investigations were continuing.
