Sharlene masters music

Sharlene Boodram ,23, graduated from the University of Miami, Florida, with a Masters Degree in Music Business and Entertainment Industries with a 3.86 Grade point average. And she vows to continue to sing and perform as well as concentrate on publishing. In 2001 the diminutive singer/songwriter obtained her Bachelor’s of Music Degree with a 3.76 Grade point average specializing in jazz vocals and studio composition, music business, publishing and management.  She was then retained by the University (Miami) as a teacher for a year before she started her masters.

During her time at UM, Sharlene was a member of the Golden Key National Honour Society Now that she is finished with her masters Sharlene hopes to start a publishing firm. The young singer will be remembered for her hits “Jole Taxi” and a Christmas song “Mamacita” but she has done much more. She participated in such events as MIDEM in Cannes, and Reggae on The River in San Francisco. She also recorded/toured with major European and Asian labels (Sony-France and EMI-Korea) on various albums. Sharlene is now fluent in English, French and Spanish and sings in all three languages as she is now familiar with various music cultures e.g French Caribbean, European, Latin, Dance Hall, Jazz and Pop-Contemporary.
