The search of TT’s top dad
EIGHT FATHERS will vie for the first ever Mr San Fernando Father’s Day pageant title, today at 5 pm at the Edge Night Club, Paria Suite Hotel and Conference Centre in La Romaine. The event is hosted by Simpli Smooth Productions and has as its the theme "Men Take Off." The contestants, between the ages 19 and 47, are Quincy Jones, Leigh Joseph, Charmone Flemming, Carl Williams, John Mendoza, Vaughn Eversley, Kinno Jarvis and Kino Henry. They have been selected from a group of 15 after responding to an advertisement that called for any male resident of San Fernando, of any age, who was interested in taking part in the show. About the show’s objective, Paula Smart, Simpli Smooth PRO revealed: "Men seem to think they’re always left out of all the pageants and they feel they can do something too." The overall winner will receive the Mr San Fernando Father’s Day trophy. Prizes will also be given in the categories Swim Wear, Best Body, Most Charming, Best Interview, Best Dress, Crowd Favourite and Best Wine Bottle. For the Most Charming category, contestants are required to deliver the best wedding proposal. In the intelligence category, contestants will be quizzed on current events and history related to the city of San Fernando. Female members of the audience have the chance of winning a dinner for two with one of the contestants. Special celebrity guests and judges will be in attendance, including the reigning Ms South Mature Shirley Harrington-Fraser. Tickets for the show cost $50.
