17 arrested in late night exercise
SEVENTEEN persons were arrested in late night exercises between Friday and Saturday morning in the Morvant and San Juan areas. They will appear before a Port-of-Spain magistrate tomorrow charged with various offences. The exercise, which took place between 7 pm and 1 am, was coordinated by Snr Supt Bishop and spearheaded by Insp Hilaire. It was conducted in Morvant, San Juan and Barataria. The persons arrested, who ranged in ages from 17 to 41, were held for possession of drugs, firearms and ammunition and on outstanding warrants.
