Five injured in maxi crash
FIVE persons, including maxi taxi driver Mahabir Harricharran, were injured yesterday in a late evening accident along the Priority Bus Route behind the Coconut Growers Association (CGA) compound, Eastern Main Road Laventille. According to reports, about 6 pm Harricharan was proceeding east with a maxi taxi full of passengers when the driver of another maxi, that was without passengers and proceeding west, lost control and spun several times before hitting Harricharran. Passers-by quickly rushed to the vehicle and contacted the fire services and EHS. The injured passengers and driver were taken to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital. Five people are warded in a serious condition. The driver’s condition was listed as unsatisfactory.
