22 arrested in Arima

Twenty-two men were arrested between Thursday night and Friday morning in a police exercise conducted in the Eastern Borough of Arima. The persons, ranging in ages from 17 to 42, were arrested in the La Horquetta, Arima and Arouca areas. The exercise which started at 11 pm and ended at 8.30 am was coordinated by Snr Supt Ghany and spearheaded by Insp Daniel. Eleven of the persons were held for illicit drugs, two for enquiries into shootings and wounding and nine for outstanding warrants. Charges are to be laid by officers of the Arima Police Station.
