Two shot in Chaguanas

Two men awaiting transportation, suffered gunshot injuries when a lone gunman opened fire in their direction early yesterday. Reports revealed that around 1.25 am, Olston Benjamin a petroleum engineer and Adrain Phillip, a field officer with WASA were standing outside of Unique Furniture Store at Main Road, Chaguanas, when a man opened fire on them.

Both men suffered gunshot injuries. The gunman escaped in a waiting car. A party of officers led by Cpl Salick and including PCs Sheppard and Thomas went to the scene and conducted inquiries. Benjamin and Phillip were taken to the Port-of-Spain General Hospital where they were treated and warded in stable condition. PC Sheppard is investigating.
