PTSC lowers city service fares

THE Public Transport Service Corporation (PTSC) has announced a decrease in their city services fares, which have become exceedingly popular since its launch last year. The service is expected to be in greater demand with the drop in fare.

In an advertisement in yesterday’s newspapers, the PTSC said fares on all city service buses operating in Port-of-Spain and San Fernando will be reduced from $3 to $2.50.

The new price took effect yesterday. The PoS city bus service operates along Wrightson Road, Belmont Circular Road and the Queen’s Park Savannah.

In San Fernando, the routes are Pleasantville, Cocoyea and Embacadere.

The PTSC said tickets purchased before December 1 will remain valid at the original $3 price for travel on the services. Tickets purchased yesterday would have reflected the new discounted price. Customers were also reminded that they can use the service without a ticket, providing that they had the exact $2.50 fare. The buses operate Monday to Saturday.

Officials of the PTSC were unavailable for comment on the drop in prices yesterday.
