Father of 7 gunned down in Laventille

According to reports, the father of seven was liming with friends at 9 pm, when they were approached by a masked man who began shooting. The group of friends scampered away, but Spencer, a security officer, was confronted by another masked man who shot him several times in the head and chest.

Spencer’s killing brings the number of people murdered in 2005 to 360.

Residents and police have described the dead man as "a cool person" and are trying to establish a motive for the killing.

Visiting the scene were Sgt Franklin and Cpl Hunte of the Besson Street Police Station, along with WPC Patrick of the Homicide Bureau, who is investigating.
