Tobago female pastor held with ‘ganja’

A FEMALE pastor was among three people arrested in Tobago over the long Christmas weekend for various offences. She and the other two, one of whom is her son, are expected to appear before a Scarborough Magistrate tomorrow to answer to several criminal charges. According to police reports, the 55-year-old pastor and her 30-year-old son were arrested after approximately ten kilos of compressed marijuana were found at their Signal Hill home on Saturday.


The woman, who is said to be a pastor of a small Church along with her son were charged with possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking after Scarborough CID Officers executed a search warrant and allegedly discovered the illegal herb. In an unrelated incident, an 18-year-old man of Bethel was arrested on Christmas night after he robbed another villager of an undisclosed sum of cash. The young man, who police said, committed the robbery while being out on bail for another robbery offence, was held in the village by officers of Old Grange Police station who were alerted by the victim following the robbery. The youth has since been charged with robbery.
