Man beaten and stabbed in face

A CARETAKER at Palm’s Club, San Fernando was beaten, stabbed in the face and robbed of his cellphone on Old Year’s Night.  Samuel John, 49, received four stitches to his face and was discharged from the San Fernando General Hospital yesterday morning. According to a police report, at about 9.30 pm on Saturday, John was standing along Pointe-a-Pierre Road opposite Palm’s Club, when he was approached by a man. The report stated that the man ordered John to hand over his cellular phone. John resisted and a scuffle ensued. According to the report, John was kicked and punched about his body, then stabbed about his face with a broken bottle. The report stated that the man grabbed John’s Nokia cellphone valued at $600 and ran off. PC Teeluck of the San Fernando CID is continuing  investigations.
