Foetus found in river

A four-month-old foetus was fished out of a river in St Joseph yesterday. The E-999 police received an anonymous call about a foetus in the St Joseph River at Farm Road, in an area known as Bangladesh. Homicide Bureau officers led by Sgt Stanley Ramdeen and including WP Cpl Gosine and PCs Ramoutar and Mitchell went to the scene at 4 pm yesterday. They were accompanied by Dr Hayden Mohammed. The foetus was retrieved and taken to the Forensic Science Centre. Investigators spent several hours yesterday trying to find out the identity of the woman who delivered the foetus.
