Zan of many talents

If you have never been in love before, then this song is sure to open those vessels to your heart at the 2006 International Groovy Soca Monarch on Fantastic Friday.

Placing second in this competition were Zan (Joel Feveck) featuring Patrice Roberts with the popular duet "Always Be."

Zan is an up and coming young songwriter, composing and performing in various genres. Zan’s career started in 1998, with his school group "Relativity." They were in great demand for concerts, modelling shows, graduation ceremonies and other gala events, with a repertoire ranging from ballads to calypso.

After graduating in 2000, Zan collaborated with Keron Boodoosingh to form the group "Fusion." Zan composed a comical tune, "Doubles," which the group recorded and performed.

In Zan’s words "This was an effort to expand my range and give vent to my natural expression."

Zan also composes for other artistes and has composed songs which are hits for several leading TT artistes.

These include ballads: "Can’t Wait" (H20 Phlo), and calypsos "Energy" (Tony Prescott and Surface), "Love Somebody" (Destra and Shal Marshall) and "Wine and Bend Over" (Shal Marshall).

His works has gone beyond the shores of TT with his recording of "Hard To Say Goodbye" with the French artiste Flo PG in 2001. His next collaboration with Shal Marshall created the exciting song "Same Band," produced by Chasau.

In 2005, Zan composed and sang the popular calypso "Watching Woman," which is included on the compilation CD Soca Switch, produced by Anthony Chow Lin On (Chinese Laundry.)
