Trainers take things easy at Santa Rosa

HONOURS at yesterday morning’s gallops fell to horses without engagements tomorrow, Day 9 of the Arima Race Club season at Santa Rosa Park, Arima.
Topping the list were Love Divine and Gems And Jewels who stepped over 600 metres in 36.59 from the boxes.
Also giving a good account at gallops was ex-Derby winner Millenium Reign who completed the same trip in 39.92 seconds together with Si Senor who is returning after a long lay-off.
Another sparkling gallop came from Carnival Dancer who was timed in 25.05 seconds for a 400 metres spin.
And Morning Glory clocked a handy 26.50 seconds for a similar gallop yesterday morning.
Most horses with engagements tomorrow only did loosening up gallops, with the majority stepping over 600 metres and 1000 metres.
Buckden who is engaged in the feature Starter Allowance race over 1750 metres, strode nicely over 1600 metres in one minute 47.52 seconds. And Rhythm Divine who is in the sub-feature Restricted Handicap over 1100 metres on the turf, looked very fluent in a gallop over one minute 10.53 seconds.
