CoP wants report on missing body
Sunday Newsday reported exclusively that due to the failure of authorities at the centre to properly tag bodies, the body of a suspected murder victim had gone missing. Two weeks ago, it was discovered the decomposed body of a man found stuffed in a barrel in San Fernando late last year, was missing from the centre. No one at the mortuary could shed any light on how the body disappeared. Last week, Homicide officers went to the Centre to arrange for DNA tests on two bodies found stuffed in barrels at San Fernando last year. It was then that they discovered one of the bodies missing.
The other body was found in one of the storage freezers but there was no tag on the body to identify it. A report on the disappearance of the body has already been forwarded to Arlette Lewis — director of the Forensic Science Centre.
