Probe into ‘lackadaisical’ cops

According to reports, Sean Luke’s mother, Pauline Lumfai said the police declined to assist her saying she was wasting their time when she visited the Couva Police Station on Sunday, after the child’s disappearance from her house.

In a statement yesterday, Paul also expressed “anger and indignation” over the brutal murder of “little Sean Luke”. “Every effort will be made to track down the killer and bring him/her to justice with great expediency,” he said.

He expressed his deep personal concern about the tragedy not only as the head of the Police Service but also as a citizen and father.

He extended “sincere condolences” to Sean’s mother and other family members and appealed to anyone with information on the incident to contact the nearest Police Station or Crime Stoppers at 800-TIPS.
