Cops in High Street fracas

A “boom box” and music CDs’ on High Street, San Fernando yesterday.

The drama began at about 4.30 pm when officers on patrol attempted to seize music CDs which enraged onlookers who allege that officers used unnecesary force against the youth.

Onlookers immediately surrounded the unmarked police vehicle and hurled abuses at the officers. Witnesses to the incident alleged the young man’s mother was also brutalised during the melee.

Both mother and son were taken to the San Fernando Police Station where illegal vending charges are expected to be laid.
