Court janitor on ‘weed’ charge

Brown, 34, a janitor attached to the San Fernando Magistracy appeared before Magistrate Andrew Stroude in the Second Court charged with being in possession of marijuana while on the compound of the court.

Brown, of Petit Cafe, Indian Walk in South Trinidad was arrested by Court and Process Officers inside the courthouse last Wednesday. He was charged by PC Bernard on Friday.

Yesterday, Stroude read the charge that on April 5, Brown was held with marijuana inside the San Fernando Magistrates’ Court and within 500 metres of a secondary school, for the purpose of trafficking.

Stroude denied Brown bail and advised him of his right to apply to a Judge in Chambers for bail. The case was adjourned to April 21.
