Cop threatens to shoot man

The victim, Nico Mc Clean, reported to officers at the Tunapuna and Besson Street Police Stations that he was at Grand Bazaar at about 3am yesterday, when he saw a female relative.

While speaking to the relative, a man told him, “move away from here, allyuh only looking for girls.”

Mc Clean reportedly told the man that the woman was his relative but he instead pulled out a gun and threatened to shoot Mc Clean.

The traumatised man said he walked away and informed relatives of the incident.

The man was later identified as a police officer.

A check revealed that the constable who works in the Port-of-Spain Division was issued a gun on Thursday morning.

He was supposed to lodge the gun back at the station at 6 pm on Thursday but failed to do so. Investigations are continuing.
