No Guineas for ailing All For Java

At the second subscription stage for the first jewel in the local triple crown, the gelded son of Java In Flight/Set All was withdrawn from the 1800 metres race because of a slightly injured knee.

But All For Java, the champion two-year-old last year, had first subscription paid up for the Midsummer Classic over 1900 metres.

He is among 49 three-year-olds for which first subscription of $500 were paid.

The second subscription of $400 for the Midsummer becomes due on May 10, with the race scheduled to be run off on August 1.

And the small field for the Santa Rosa Dash has been further depleted with the withdrawal of Marci’s Dreamer from the 1200 metres sprint.

There were 15 horses for which second subscriptions were not paid for the Guineas to be run off on May 30, reducing the field to 28.

Third and final subscription of $400 become due for the Guineas on May 17.

But connections are reminded they have until Wednesday to pay third and final subscription of $300 for the Santa Rosa Dash and the Gleneagle Stakes Both races will be run off on May 6.

Meanwhile, the Imported Three-year-olds Sprint to be run off on June 19 has attracted 12 runners for which first subscription of $400 was paid. In this race there are four newcomers including one with the tongue-tying name of Ahsenoryougowahaca. Others are Northern Regency, Speeking iIn Prables and Wild About Becca. Second subscription of $300 for this race becomes due on May 10.
