Men held for stealing steel

The men, ages 47 and 49, were arrested on Thursday by Cpl Lewis and PC Hazel of the Matelot Police Station, at Paria Main Road, Grande Riviere Village. At around 4 am the policemen were on mobile patrol when they saw two men loading lengths of steel into a three-tonne van. The steel was being used to construct a bridge along the main road.

The officers arrested the men and impounded their vehicle at the station.
