Rajiv wins ‘Mastana’

Young and versatile singer Rajiv went down on his knees to do a selection made popular by India’s Kishore Kumar. He received the first prize of $400.

The beautiful Ornella Sawh took the second prize while Ambika Godin and Devanand Mandeo placed third and fourth place respectively.

The following contestants have been selected to perform at the ninth preliminary round of competition: Keemal Ali, Rehanna Gopaul, Rajive Harry, Ramroop Samlal, Malick Dancers, Neil Samdeo, Amrit Deonarine, Annie Dookie, Anisa Ali Dance Group, and Ravi Suriya Tassa Group.

This programme will be taped at the Rampersad Brothers Entertainment Centre, Raju Trace, San Francique Village, Penal. The programme starts at 5.30 pm and there will be lots of free give-away from the regular sponsors.

The National Flour Mills pick-a-pan jackpot is now $1,550.

The next audition of Mastana will be held at the Penal Rock Road Hindu Temple, Penal Rock Road, Penal on Sunday from at 10 am.
