Young Lions upset Creek In UWI football

The Lions, fourth-placed finishers in Group 1 of the First Division edged their Premier League Group B rivals 4-3 in second round knockout games last weekend.

Joel McDonald, Richard Gourie, Keon John and Ako Jones scored one goal each for the winners, while Kevin Cornielle, Real Didier and Kele Moore got one apiece for Creek.

In another mild upset, SAC pipped First Division Group 2 runners-up Frank Hart 1-0 on Garvin Edwards’ goal.

And Tunapuna Titans overcame Premier League team Malabar 4-3 with a Neron Clarke double, and one each from Teshaun Rollock and Kenneth Mootoo.

Lincoln Brann, Jason Bagoo and Michael Hospedales scored one goal each for the losers.

Terrence Sealy scored the only goal for HCL Strikers to oust La Horquetta 1-0 Joe Youths escaped with a 3-2 triumph over First Division Group 1 winners Val Trin.

Carlington Smith scored twice and Vincente De Silva got the other goal for the winners while Ariel Campbell and Kempes Villafana got a goal each for Val Trin.

Both IRS and Shocking Vibes advanced with victories on penalties.

The IRS out-kicked Opac Connection 5-4, while The Vibes were 4-3 winners over Universal Flippers.
