Lekh Raj going for quick double

TURFITES will be faced with a nine-race programme on Arima Race Club Day 18 at Santa Rosa Park, Arima, on Saturday.
Lekh Raj, a surprise winner of the Restricted Handicap over 1600 metres on the turf course on Labour Day, Monday last, will make a swift return to racing in search of a quick double when taking on eight challengers in the Starter Allowance feature over 1100 metres on the turf.
Included in the field is Stravinskys Secret who finished fourth in the Imported Sprint Stakes for three-year-old importations.
Another returning for Saturday’s races will be Assurance who was second to Bling Bling in the 1200 metres race for three-year-old maidens.
He is pencilled in for the 1100 metres turf race, the day’s finale and will be rivalled by nine others.
Also on Saturday, race callers will get their acid test with the tongue-twisting named horse Ahsenoryougowahaca.
This one from the Bobby Persad stables holds the engagement in the eight-horse field set to line up for the Imported three-year-old an over maidens over 1350 metres.
Holding the engagement here too is Straight Ahead who was a beaten favourite last time.
Making a quick return too are Sure Wager who was third in the day’s opener on Monday last and Travel Agent who was a head away in fourth in the same race.
