Trini woman drops dead at Crown Point

According to reports, shortly after 1 pm, 72 -year-old Vere Achong of Westmoorings was found by her sister Merle Romaine on the floor of the restroom after she heard a loud noise coming from the room and went to investigate.

Romaine reportedly said that she had felt a faint pulse when she found her sister but by the time medical help arrived, Vere had already died.

The body was subsequently viewed by DMO Adbeko and ordered removed to the Scarborough Mortuary.

Achong, who was brought into the waiting lounge in a wheelchair, was said to be in Tobago for a conference over the long weekend and had fallen ill on Saturday.

She was reportedly taken to the Scarborough Regional Hospital for a check-up and was discharged but was still not in the best of health.

Officers of the Tobago Homicide Bureau are continuing investigations.
