Hislop signs for Dallas in MLS

He will be making the move from English Premiership side West Ham United.

Hislop agreed to the deal this week after performing superbly in two of TT’s World Cup matches.

He will say goodbye to what has been a memorable stay in England which started at Reading FC and saw him move to Newcastle United, Portsmouth and West Ham.

“This is an exciting new challenge for me,” said Hislop. “I went to school in the United States and have a lot of respect for football in the country. I look forward to bringing my experience to a great organisation and help FC Dallas win championships in America,” he said.

He attended Howard University in Washington, DC and was in the team that reached the final in his first year.

Hislop admitted that he turned down a one-year extension to his contract from West Ham.

“There were a few options to consider but moving to the MLS suited me fine at this stage. I’m really looking forward to continuing my football there,” added the former St Mary’s College player.

He now joins Avery John, Scott Sealy and Cornell Glen as the other TT players in the MLS.

Hislop will occupy the club’s fourth international slot and will join them pending visa approval once the transfer window opens on July 15.
