Teacher warded after crash

Surendra Ramoutar, 29, of Gurahoo Trace, is at San Fernando General Hospital nursing injuries to his limbs and face, police said.

The occupants of the other car — Frank Seepersad, an attorney, and his wife, Camille, both of Seagull Drive, Othaheite, South Oropouche, walked out of the accident with minor injuries.

According to police reports, at about 9.30 pm, Ramoutar was driving a Toyota Corolla on north-bound lane of the highway in the vicinity of the Tarouba Housing Development when according to police reports Ramoutar’s car crossed the median and collided with a BMW driven by Seepersad.

The accident caused a heavy traffic pile-up on the busy motor-way and passing motorists assisted the occupants of both vehicles. An Emergency Health Services ambulance responded to the scene and rushed the three injured to the hospital.

Seepersad and his wife were treated at hospital and discharged, while Ramoutar was warded for further treatment.

Mon Repos police are continuing inquiries.
